I'm new here so please forgive me if this is a dumb question. I am shopping for a weather station and have decided on the Ambient Weather WS-2080 Wireless Home Weather Station. I'm choosing this model because of the cost and favorable feedback.

I'd like to mount it in my back yard on a pole. I understand that any metal object may attract a lightning strike, including your weather station mounting pole. My question is, "How do I minimize the chance of lightning strikes to the pole?"

You should search for the topic "Grounding."  There's been various and sundry and many many threads, discussions, and opinions posted about the pros and cons of grounding and ligntning.

Good luck and welcome to the forum!  Smile
