Took this picture from my front deck last night.  This was one of only a few clouds in the sky.  It appears to me that it was raining from the cloud, but I am not certain.  Anyone else have any ideas?

I would say that's rain.
By the way that's a hell of view from your deck. Too bad you don't have a webcam to share that view.

It does certainly look like rain.  If it's not reaching the ground it could just be virga.
Especially if the lower levels of the atmosphere were dry at the time.

It's a little hard to tell if it is reaching the ground because of the hill.

That looks very similar to a cloud we recently saw.  This one is called an "Inverted Anvil".  These are rare for our area and really got everybodies attention.  Just below where that cloud was a nuclear aircraft carrier that just came into port in Everett, WA..... Shocked

Thanks for the reply.  Some day, I hope to get a webcam.  This is the view from my upstairs windows.  The peaks are about fifteen miles away.  This is what got me interested in the weather, you can see the weather changing all the time.  Sometimes the sun will be shining at my house, but you can't see the mountains because it is raining or snowing between here and there.
