So my VP2 is now residing at a townhouse where my options for mounting it are quite limited. The
only reasonable place I had to mount it was on the deck. The solution I came up with required a 4' green treated 4x4 post, an 8' green treated 2x4, and 2-7" 3/8" bolts, fender washers, and nuts.
The construction is pretty straightforward and the pictures pretty much show everything you need to know to build it. The clamping force of the 2x4s affix the rig to the deck. The post the VP2 is mounted to can be pivoted easily to allow for leveling and maintenance.
It really turned out a lot more elegant than I had thought it would when I set pencil to paper. Rock solid too!
