Hi all, i just got my boltek system the other day and i'm wondering where to mount the thing...I have a 3 story aluminum sided home so would the aluminum be a problem if i mounted it in the attic?
Metal and bolteks to not mix well. If you mount your antenna in the attic and the siding comes between you and the rf from the lightning it will kill your reception.
Option 2 would be climbing & mounting it above the highest peak of my home. I bought a 3" pvc pipe with 2 caps & nylon screws, so i assume this is all i need?
This would be preferred over the attic in your case. There are a lot ways to make a cap for your antenna.
The 3" pipe, caps and nylon screws is a good solution. Remember you will need some kind of reducer to mount it to your mast.
