What's your worst weather movie? There are some really corny ones out there, but in my opinion, Sci-fi's "Ice Twisters" tops them all: Twisters that spawn and shoot shards of ice at people.... d'oh!

I agree both of those movies were terrible.  "B" movies are better than that.  I"ll take "Attack of The Killer Tomatoes" over either of those. Smile

Excluding the "B" and SyFy ("B-") genre since they are intentionally bad, in no particular order...

1. The Fog (another sloppy nterpretation of Stephen King)
2. The Perfect Storm. (no dis' to the Gloucester fishermen)
3. The Day After Tomorrow.
4. An Inconvenient Truth.  (It counts, it won an Oscar)
5. 2012 (not sure if that one counts...  earth sciences?)

Since we're also talking about 80's B-stock, if you like AotKT, you have to also watch "Toxic Avenger" and "C.H.U.D."

(Bring back MST3K!)

You can get all the MST3K you want on Netflix. My son and I average about 3/mo streaming. Even my wife loves it (if she can stay awake as she's a morning person.)

We had an MST3K party once (early 90's) to have the final word with movies we had all anticipated and then ended up hating, where we taped silouettes of Joel and the bots to the bottom of the big 35" and watched "Star Trek 5" and "Highlander 2" and a third movie I don't remember because I didn't do so well at the drinking game we made from our spontaneous commentary.

The Day After Tomorrow
This movie was way too overrated and rerunned about billion times on TBS, TNT, FX, and Fox Movie Channel.
I was tortured by my family with this movie, if it was on TV on some random channel, WE HAD TO WATCH IT!

I never would have guessed it only takes two days to walk from DC to NYC!

I love watching bad disaster movies. Another one is "Absolute Zero." As one reviewer on IMDB puts it:

Quote
Take away the hand full of things that were good about "The day After Tomorrow" and pile on a clichéd script and no money, this is what you will get.

It's supposed to take place in Miami, but was apparently filmed in Vancouver. So they place random palm trees around, which does nothing to make it look like Miami ... just Vancouver with random palm trees. Anyway, terrible acting, stupid story, non-believable science ("Science is never wrong!" is said many times throughout), everything you want in a bad disaster movie.

I am typically a fan of "B" and even "B-" movies, but I agree 2012 Ice Age is the worst.

I forgot about that one - pretty bad too. I think Absolute Zero is on par. I'll have to check out Meltdown!

The Day After Tomorrow.

Okay sure the air is -60F at 50,000 ft, but it would compress and heat up significantly if it plummeted to the surface.

Bad month on Comcast......

Metal Tornado......to quote Commander Data....I seem to be missing some of my memory engrams....(Jordi holds them out in his hand)...Oh there they are.
Night of the Twister....my big screen kept shutting off during it....guess I shouldn't have forced it to display it...now the remote won't work...
Ice Twisters........my body went numb and I couldn't get myself off the couch

Thanks to this thread, I have a few movies to watch.  Applause

Here's another contribution to the list  ... Tornado Valley. I take no responsibility for that, if you watch it, you have only yourself to blame!  Razz

I ditched Dish last week, so I'll have to look on Netflix for movies. No more wasted Saturday mornings on Syfy  Confused but will save $96 per month.  Smile

You're all forgetting one thing. The sole purpose is for entertainment...And only entertainment. Anyone who takes these movies for anything else really needs to have their IQ checked.....

True that, just like "Inglorious Basterds" [sic] is far removed from reality as a WWII movie, yet it's quite entertaining.  Unfortunately many of the weather movies listed aren't even that.  I too have given up on SyFy, and even Sci and TLC (long ago).  Recently I find more (short) gems on DailyMotion or Vimeo.  But there too resides a lot of excrement, but at least at least self-financed, produced and promoted.  How some "Hollywood" flicks even get investors is beyond me.
