I'll second the rechargeable batteries. I get only 3 or 4 days on a set of batteries. I keep mine running on the AC adapter.

I'm thinking about getting a ac adapter..6 volt I do believe. The only draw back to the unit is it has no earphone/speaker jack.

I'm curious about what model it is.  Is it the 12-522?

Guys, the original post on this was 5 years ago.  Suggest beginning a fresh post, as radio models are always changing and it's easier to keep track of reviews if you title it for the model radio you have.
