Is anyone else having problems getting data from Simuawips?  I only get some old model data.  No satellites and radars not working.  Checked website but don't see a status anywhere.  At the bottom of the console it says status "normal".   Confused Brick wall

That is a valuable site !  Maybe they were adding some new functionality while it was down..
I wear both it and  BUFKIT out during severe weather Smile

I have tried to use BUFKIT a couple times but I the size of the box is not big enough so I cannot see all the program.  I tried changing resolution but nothing I do works.  I can never see the bottom of the program window or the far right where the setup is.  Any Ideas.  I tried dragging the box but it is as wide as it goes.

This is the note on the Simuawips forum about the system being down.  It is from 2 June.

Over the last several days, SimuAWIPS has not been able to generate products. There has been some sort of problem which has not only crashed the data processing servers, but now knocked out my ability to login to the system remotely and fix anything.
I am working to restore service but with my new job and distance from the site, it's nearly impossible to get anything done about this at the moment.

Is SimuAwips back up?? I haven't tried in a day or so since it has been rather tranquil here. And for BUFKIT you're right it takes a larger monitor with tighter resolution. I can run it fine on my one machine with the large screen monitor but none of my laptops have a screen larger than 15" including one I have Linux loaded on so I have never been able to get BUF to run good enough to see it all on any of these.. widescreen monitor only it appears for me too Smile

I checked this morning and it was not up.  I think it might take a while Sad.  The note on the forum said he cannot even log on to the system in order to fix it.  Being an amateur at computers I don't know what his options are in a situation like that.  Hope it gets back up soon.  I was in the slight risk area yesterday and felt naked without it.

I just got an email from them stating they were finally going to be able to correct a long standing server issue today and should be back on-line with generated data by 5CST today. So that is good news!!  That is a super neat site!

I just got home and found one of those emails as well.  I just tried it and it is back up and running.  I am impressed that they sent out the email as well.  Glad it didn't take as long as I feared it might.  Well Done Simuawips!!!! Applause Applause

ADDED:  Some of the models may take a little time to get back.  I get no response on some of the upper air products like 700 mb observations.  Hope it will be ok soon as is the rest.
