WU web cam time lapse

Is it just me or is it not very good?

I'm uploading every minute and the resulting movie sure isn't using all those images. The time lapse is way too fast to really show anything cool like the building clouds and the speed of the cloud movement we had yesterday.

If you've made changes to your video size and/or upload time, it takes 24 hours and some odd minutes to see your changes in the time lapse video.
I think the time lapse video gets the frame rate by using times and sizes of the last 2 frames of the 24 hour time period and stays at that defined interval during play back.
Wait it out and see what happens.

Larry, I have to agree. The image quality to me isn't very good either. I'm not using WU but do have a 24 hour movie that I just upload myself at 10 minute intervals.

I'm going to go that route once I get a stationary "sky cam" in place. I plan to blatantly copy what talbert1952 is doing with his sky cam: http://tobaccovilleweather.com/skycam.htm

Tom is a great guy. I'm sure he'd be more then happy to point you in the right direction with getting that setup. He went above and beyond letting me test out his 21A cam, so I could get my software figured out with it.

Way ahead of you. I've aready discussed his setup with him. and yes Tom's a helpful guy one on one just like he is in the forums.

Just got a hilarious call from my MIL. She was checking out the time lapse and called me all excited because there was something shooting up into the sky last night!

It looks like from the developer blog that they're working on the quality and bandwidth issues.

Already, when you view the still images by month, they have the images appearing in their native size instead of resizing them.

I also get the impression that they're going to start using the images on the main weather pages for weather which is geographically close to the camera.

(Another reason to get a cam with better quality)

You're right on.  WU's time lapse is NOT good..  I posted on the developer's blog once asking why they didn't make the most recent  video better and then reduce its quality when it was stored.  I really don't see the great benefit of keeping months/years of POOR quality  time lapse video that is basically worthless.  Why not just keep a day's or week's worth of TOP quality video and scrap the rest.

Again, right on...  I have said here before tobaccovilleweather.com's times lapse video is the BEST!
