Nice one! I got mine a couple of weeks ago and am loving the new experience  Very Happy

Very easy to set up but am experimenting with locations for the ISS. Next is the on-line web page. Very addictive!

You will not be disappointed ...

The first thing you will notice when you unpack it is how much bigger it is than you thought it would be. Congrats.  Very Happy

Welcome to the Davis side....LOL. I was cleaning today and ran across my original bill from Ambient, May 18, 2008. Still a very happy camper.

Enjoy it when it arrives!

I went through the same thing... once it's up in the air 30 feet, it gets smaller!

(not really)  Cool

Enjoy your new station.

When I got my Davis Vantage Pro2 I had that same effect. Never realized how big it was. All the years of day dreaming of setting up that big boy for real weather watching, and those moments from when the delivery truck arrives to actually setting it up. Seeing that big yellow topped box with the word, "Davis" on the sides and, "weather station" on the other sides. For some reason the moment when you unpack is almost as fun as actually using the station. As you own the station for a while, the station encounters so many different weather anomalies, seeing those on the display. Looking at your station and saying I'm an official weather watcher. receiving a Davis besides it self feels great. It will feel even better when you expand with all the different options, like the sensors and all the other add on's. Congrads on the new station.

Same here! I saw these Davis stations in my area. There is a variety of them. Anywhere from Weather Monitors, to Gro-Weathers, to EZ Mounts, to vantage Pros and Vantage Pro2s. The plastic is so shiny on these stations I always thought they were made from metal.

Congrats on the new station. When I got mine I opened the box faster than I did XX years ago when it was a Daisy BB gun under the Christmas tree. Just remember to stop....breathe......and take it a step at a time....oh and drop in here time to time....the wheel has been invented, rotated and balance here so much in the past....you will save alot of time.

Oh yeah, unboxing is just as fun! It's been set up for over a month now with no problems. I got the serial logger last week as a birthday present, and I've been sending data to CWOP (DW7358) for several days now. I've always wanted a Davis! I'm so happy I have one now!

Mine has been running for two weeks now and I love it! From time to time I still stop just to admire it.  Cool

Last summer saw the new national heat record, I wish I had had my station already then. Well, there will be plenty of weather events to enjoy.

I'm impressed at how fast CWOP is growing.  The "D" series is already up to 7358.   Shocked  That's a lot of stations (considering also the "C" series)!

I looked at your QA page and it looks like you don't have a red line (expected value).  Maybe you haven't been sending data long enough.  But it's something you need to check on and ensure it shows up eventually.  If it doesn't, you need to send them an email.

Good luck and enjoy!  Smile

Yeah, my first full day of uploading was Saturday. The NOAA guy said MADIS is updated weekly, so it would take time for the QC ratings to appear.

I just bit the bullet and ordered the Wireless Pro2 Plus along with a few other toys.... like the soil & temp unit. Dancing

Told my wife it was just a tad larger than the OS 200.... guess I'm in trouble when I get it Friday from Scientific Sales. Anyone got a helmet I can borrow? Laughing

I have been using my WS-2080 for a few weeks now and pretty much decided I should have got the Davis. While the small Ambient unit is nice I do wish I had more rapid weather feedback as well as more sensor options.
When I started i really didn't think the lack of these would be a big deal but I learned my lesson.

I'll probably order the Vantage Pro2 in a week or so and just sell my WS-2080 for a bargain to someone on a tight budget and really wanting a station. I'd also like to have the UV and Solar sensors right out of the gate so may go for the VP2 Plus.

Live and learn, just go for the gold the first time!

The cheapest I found the wireless VP2 unit was for $535. Are you talking the ENTIRE setup (sensors & display)?

DellNec....LOOK around, you can do a lot better than that $535 deal and Provantage.com is just one of the places to look.

I might get the VP2 over the Vue, yes it is $100 more for the VP2 but the unit is better and I probably won't miss the $100 over the long term but I will enjoy the VP2.

How much BIGGER is the VP2 over the Vue?
