I've put together a website where you can view interactive graphs of the weather - pan and zoom through the full history of a weather station and get multiple forecasts for the current location, all overlaid on records and averages for the weather station:

http://weatherspark.com

Pan the graph by clicking and dragging. Zoom with the mouse wheel, and there are zoom shortcuts up left of the graph. Pick the data series to show in the "More Graphs" section. Use the map to quickly browse through the world's weather, station-by-station. Search for any location on earth.

It's still in beta, so please pardon any rough edges in the application or glitches in the data - weather stations sometimes report bogus values, and we're working to sort those out. We currently have > 4,000 stations, but are working to add more (it's primarily METAR right now, want to add Mesonet/PWS as well). The current conditions are updated once or twice per hour, we're working to make them effectively instantaneous.

Would love to hear your thoughts on it. Which data series are your favorites? Which ones are missing that we should add?

Thanks!
Jacob

Very interesting. That has a real good look to it.  Smile

You get the PWS and Mesonet data on there and that would be fantastic.

Needs to get the metars for all places and in correct location. The metar for Ketchikan is not in the city of ketchikan put on the island across from it and  weather there can be different then on Revillaigedgo Island where Ketchikan is. Just the channel makes an differences  in weather. Airport getssnow and be raining in the city.  Windy there be deadcalm across the channel.

Tony: Thanks!

Scalphunter: I'm not sure I understand - the Metar station is indeed across the channel (the green marker with the temperature in it), whereas the forecast is from Ketchikan proper (the blue ring, white center marker). If you zoom in you can see their locations better, the connection is drawn with a blue line between the markers. It's not ideal that the closest station has such widely differing weather, but there's only so much I can do about that. Hopefully adding Mesonet/PWS can help here since there would be more stations available.

Very nice look.  I like it and can see myself using it pretty often.

Fantastic look and feel. Unique interface. Agree that adding PWS sites would be awesome...

Looks GREAT, but...

Seems to be defaulting to "Middletown/Hook Field" (12.5 miles away) for Hamilton, Ohio, USA

"Hamilton/Butler County Regional Airport" (KHAO - located along the border of Hamilton & Fairfield) would be much better, especially since Hook Field data is often rather "suspect"

Used the map to select it manually

The concept is fantastic, the look is incredible, the graphing is everthing I try to do in Excel and takes me hours. In the site is beautiful!

Great work Jacob.

Just get the details down and perfect.

(I already have it in my favorites).
