Ever since the site was updated a few weeks ago I keep on getting runtime errors on IE6 here. Any idea what might be causing these errors to occur.
Thanks, Tim

Tim, I'm not seeing it on IE6 for your home page ( http://webpages.charter.net/tweatherman67/index.html ). Is that the page? Best regards, Ken

I haven't noticed anything. Ken, maybe one of the admins could create a test account and see if it occurs using a regular account.

My bad.. I thought it was your site Tim. But... I did find the problem with IE6 and the smfFadeScroller JavaScript. I changed two things (moved a definition up in the script, and added a color: #000000; to the style for the <div> and that seems to have stopped the errors (at least on my IE6 system). Is is fixed for your systems now too? Best regards, Ken

Ken, One thing I've noticed in Firefox is when " Welcome to our new SMF-based forum! Problems? Please PM saratogaWX with details. Thanks!" is displayed at the top the "Thanks" drops down to a second line which shifts the bottom of the whole page downward. So as the messages change depending whether one or two lines are required to hold the text causes the page to slowly jitter up and down. Is there a way to fix the space alloted for the fading messages to two lines? I know I'm nit picking a bit now but figured sooner or later someone else would bring it up anyway.

No nits too small, I say Mark I've changed the greeting line just a bit so it doesn't wrap in 1024x768 resolution. With 800x600 resolution, it wrapped all lines. For > 1024px wide, there wasn't a wrap. But... now it's fixed (and we'll be careful to view in other resolutions when the messages are changed). Thanks for bringing it up. Tim, I'm glad that the forum is now without JavaScript errors in IE6 -- I'll make sure to test it with that when future mods are made. Best regards, Ken

That got it Ken. Thought afterward I should have gave you my resolution and font settings in case you had trouble getting it to show up. It was my old desktop's 15" CRT monitor that showed it worse. Most of the time I run it now at 1024x instead of 800x to work better with the majority of modern websites but have to bump up the font size to see it without glasses.

I hear you about the glasses thing.. I'm running my usual browser at 1133x1002 (with the other side occupied by Desktop Sidebar). Native screen is 1280x1024. The font is 'normal', the eyes aren't but thanks to 'Computer Glasses', I can see it ok. Getting older for me means my nearsightedness is getting better.. probably be 20-20 by the time I croak. Best regards, Ken
