Just got my system, but in a matter of a couple of weeks. In Prairie Grove AR I had 73.1 on 1/29/11 and -5.6 on 02/10/2011. That is pretty extreme. That was just 12 days.

Sounds familiar.

I had a 79.2 temp reading on 1/29 here in Tulsa (high, obviously)
On 2/10 my low was -9.2.  Chilly cold.

Two surface observations I took while working at the airport on July 13, 1995. A day I will never forget. I saved these because I knew they would be long standing records.

I heard something on the news recently about a city in the northern plains recording a record low of -31F, followed by a record high a few days later. Crazy!

My station recorded a relative humidity of 6% yesterday, the lowest I can recall seeing here.  That along with gusty winds produced a Chandler Burning Index was at least 133 and probably a bit higher.

My sister's station in Campobello, SC recorded a relative humidity of 5%.

I tend to get a lot of wind, but that's way too much info about me. Silenced  Laughing

Here we see the remains of Atlantic hurricains that are kindly sent our way from the eastern U.S & Canada and North Atlantic Jetstream means they often make landfall around the Northwest of Scotland.
Over the last few years I've recorded the following highs:

2008 - 9th January - 82 knots (94 mph or 152 Km/h)
2009 - 17th January - 85 knots (98 mph or 158 Km/h)
2010 - 29th October - 61 knots (70 mph or 113 Km/h)
2011* - 3rd February - 67 knots (77 mph or 124 Km/h)

*A long way to go in the year so this may not be the highest!!
