Full moon over ElDorado Canyon NV
« on: November 08, 2010, 10:03:09 PM »
I shot this picture recently while on vacation in Nevada.  It is in a semi ghost town of ElDorado Canyon, to the Southeast of Las Vegas not too far north of Searchlight.

Very nice Moon. The Moon can be so spectacular! And, you should call "American Pickers" about that gas pump.  They buy those things up like crazy.

Nice shot! Looks like a great place to bring along a scope for star gazing.

Nice, Definitely suitable for framing, even a contest.

Unfortunately, nothing on the property is for sale.  The owners constantly re-arrange items so every trip is different.  They run gold mine tours and rafting and kayak tours.  It took me 4 years to get permission to photograph there at night.  We did some light painting and shots by the light of the full moon.  There was a scene in the famous Kevin Costner movie 3000 miles to Graceland filmed there.  I'll try to post a link to some non weather photos later today or tomorrow.

I don't know how I missed this one! Wow! Classic Americana of the SW Desert! That is gorgeous!
