Tropical Basin Satellite Animations using HAniS
« on: August 03, 2017, 10:47:47 PM »
The University of Wisconsin Space Science & Engineering Center's Cooperative Institute for Meteorological Satellite Studies creates satellite images of various tropical basins around the globe, some hourly and some every six hours.

The attached scripts use Tom Whitaker's HTML5 (HAniS) to display animations of these images.  Some of the animations display about 12 hours and some display about 2 days worth of images.

The SSEC does have animations available, but the site doesn't use SSL so they will not display on an SSL (https://) secured site.  Hence the need to develop a separate animation script that displays on an SSL site, even without the 'padlock'.

The script can be seen here standalone and in a Saratoga template (of sorts).

The attached zip should be unzipped into your site's root directory.  HAniS 4.0+ is required.
