On my experimental page link, ( http://frankfortweather.us/fwsatgoes16x.php ) the lower left image is experimental modeling of a sample 'swath'...
"Synthetic Imagery Model Cross Section"
Interesting because on the lower left of the expanded image, you'll see a thumb US map with a diagonal line
through Kansas to Wyoming....

...the graphics indicate potential temp layers (K), and movement speed (blue 'ellipses')
along that 'sample swath' with the bottom dark line indicating terrain altitude.
