Ground PWS mount?
« on: January 27, 2015, 01:30:41 PM »
I mounted my wireless Acurite 3 in 1 sensor on a steel pipe and it extends above the roof by a couple of feet. There is a picture on the WU about page if you click on the stamp in my signature.

Do I need to add a ground rod and provide a drain wire between them? Thanks.

Yes.  Especially if you are in an area that is prone to lightning strikes.  The ground also helps to dissipate any static electricity that might build up causing erroneous sensor readings.
