Catatumbo Lightning

I have been reading about this phenomena in Venezuela at the mouth of the Catatumbo River, but I have not seen any hits from it on The lightning maps..
What is up with that??? :?

Not enough Stations on the Blizotung network in South America. Also the lightning is so heavy when it's present that further stations simply cannot sort the pulses, the skywaves are lost and distorted.
