Program for Maplin N23DQ station
« on: July 08, 2016, 02:48:27 AM »
Hello everyone,

some months ago I bought  Maplins N23DQ remote wifi weather station which is working well with Weather Underground. But I have seen programs available which give more detailed displays and data recovery than does the Wunderground system. Programs such as Cumulus for instance. My station will not work with Cumulus as it stands, but does anyone know of a way that I can either get my station working with Cumulus or something similar, or getting more detailed information from the data sent to Wunderground?

I am not a computer programmer and know nothing about that side of things at all so if anybody has any answers, could you please word it in layman's terms. From what I can gather, my station uses something like the Fine Offset material, although when I've looked at the display which came with the station, it looks a lot like the old Easy Weather program.

Many thanks to anyone who can help.

I have never used it but Cumulus can read an easyweather.dat file format http://wiki.sandaysoft.com/a/EasyWeather_Format#Usage_of_easyweather.dat_fields_for_Cumulus_input_of_latest_record:

Not sure if your station can supply that file.

Enjoy,
Paul

Many thanks Paul. I've read through that info but it means absolutely nothing to me. I don't know anything about what makes computers work, I just get frustrated by them when they won't do what I want them to (in any logical way!). But your prompt reply is appreciated, I'll see if I can rustle up a friend who speaks computer-ese.
