More fun with Panasonic PTZ cameras...
« on: November 05, 2014, 01:21:21 PM »
You might recall that previously I posted about writing some php scripts to control a Panasonic PTZ camera, grab the images and stitch them into a panorama.

Last night I edited that script to control an older camera at our house to make a panorama, and then got to thinking.

The newer SLOweather.com camera has 20 presets instead of 8. I reprogrammed 8 more of the presets to do the 8 tiles below the original panorama, and then edited a copy of the script to make a panorama out of them. It worked... :)

While I haven't decided whether to write or modify the rest of the scripts to take advantage of this exercise, I did crop and merge the resulting 2 panoramas manually, just to see how it looked.

Cropped and merged, 16 320 x 240 tiles makes a pretty big jpg 2,460px × 437px, almost 250 kb, so I'm just posting the link if anyone is interested in how it turned out.
