Why two summary.bin files now
« on: September 14, 2014, 01:23:17 PM »
After upgrading from VWS 12.08p11 to 15.0p3 I notice VWS has created and is maintaining two C:\VWS\Setup\Summary directories - i.e C:\vws\setup\SUMMARY and c:\vws\setup\SUMMARY2.

The files have the same filenames in each, but those in the original ..\SUMMARY directory are 5KB in size while those in ..\SUMMARY2 are 4KB.

This does not seem to be any sort of operational problem, but I am just curious while vws is maintaining two different versions of the same set of files now.

Thanks, Jay - for both answers --

Just when I thought I had figured out vws's darkest secrets - it changes the enigma codes!

Oh well - I am sure I can rig a way to do as you have with the dbase files - The present system sure seems to beat the heck out of restarting vws 4 times a day to keep it "stable" on the old system.
