Here's my 2 sentence litany on Davis Vantage Pro 2s. They are excellent stations.
Wired- cheaper to buy, harder to install, easier to maintain, bulletproof comms over long distances, as long as you want to run wire
Wireless- More expensive, easier to install, harder to maintain, potentially more problematic comms (interference, shielding, etc)
(I chose wired because the installation didn't bother me, and I didn't want sensor batteries failing at inopportune times, and I have lots of interference potential for a wireless station.)

If you think you want solar and UV, buy them up front as a part of a VP2 Plus. Those sensors are
much more expensive to add later.
Wireless is the way to go if you want to add additional sensors.
