The ENSO discussion on 10 March says that La Nina is weakening and there should be an ENSO-neutral condition by June.
There will be continued effects for the US along with the weakening such as enhanced chance of below average precip in Southern states, Central Rockies, and Central Plains. Also a increased chance of below average temps for the West Coast and Northern tier of states except NE.

Almost hate to see it go, we had the perfect fall for harvest last year. We only had one or two rain outs which was a pleasant change from the hell that was the previous two years.

I agree! Great fall for harvesting, but we were a little disappointed with our yields. By the way, what is the La Nina?

La Nina is when there is cooling of surface Ocean waters in Eastern tropical Pacific. It is part of what is called ENSO (El Nino Southern Oscillation). El Nino is the other end with warming of the surface ocean waters. ENSO-neutral is when the waters are at the normal temperatures.

Nope. The ENSO is a very irregular cycle. The period is normally longer than a year, often two to five years, but with no regularity at all.

This last La Nina has lasted for about a year and some odd months (I think - will have to look at records).
This isn't the worst La Nina but most La Nina's aren't good where I live.

in my part of mn, the harvest was not fun, way to much rain during the summer left water standing in fields, combines getting stuck, leaving ruts in the fields trying to get the crop out, lots of farmers using tracks (big bucks!} on their combines just to try and get threw the mud. what a mess. ](*,) hope this spring will be warm and dry for a while, but extended forcasts don't look good.

We've run tracks on everything since 08 anyway. Which was the worst year we had ever had for field conditions, until 09. I hope this year is a better year for everyone. We'd start planting corn this week if it'd dry up, but it's not going to.

Seems to work fine. You just need to find the last and final quote marker.

What La Nina?
Here in the Lower Blue mountains West of Sydney we have barely had any rain this summer.
Just recently we have started to recieve some decent rain.
Have not had as much rain here in the Lower Blue Mountains as Sydney siders.
But we are still 'finally' getting some decent rain:
yesterday: 27mm
Saturday: 18mm
Total for March so far is: 95mm

I do not know a lot about La Nina (or El Nino) but I don't think the consequences of them is very predictable. I did read on the HPC website that the cool periods (La Nina) cause wetter than normal conditions in Northern Australia, Indonesia, and Malaysia during Northern Winter. But, when it comes to the conditions that result from the La Nina's vary each cycle depending on where in the region of the ENSO the warmer or cooler water predominates. This is only an opinion from what I have read so far. I have much more to read on the subject.
Seems like some places in Australia have had unbelievably terrible weather this year. I hope you get what you need there.

What browser are you using? It seems even when I try to quote what you quoted, it still doesn't turn up right.
