Went to Costco today and picked up one of these for $79.99, they had about 100 or so of them out on display.

That came with the 5 in 1 sensor or just the display? If that was the whole package, then you can't beat that price.

Costco(s) are bizarre - some stores have stuff and others do not.  Of course these seem to be always in stock.  http://www.costco.ca/funeral.html  :)

Here are a couple of pics of the station, I have the sensor about 7 ft off the ground in the middle of the yard, working good so far.

Looks higher than 7'. If you notice some swirling on the wind vane, put a couple of magnets on there. I've found higher up gives better temperature readings with this unit.

It's about 7ft off the ground, I took the photo right next to it and my yard slopes down on the other side so it looks higher in the pic, I'll have to keep an eye on the wind vane, it's been really calm here today.

Looks like a sturdy installation, good job! Only one suggestion, you may want to paint that pole gloss white. On still/calm sunny days you could "see" the pole heat rising and your temp sensor is at the top of the pole.

Thanks! I'll have to watch to see if the pole affects the temps at all, so far I am very happy with the way it's performing.

I don't think the Costco console is as detailed as the one from Amazon. There are two different color consoles.

Yep, just got the Costco one here too and I used my smart phone to compare prices and features. The 1036 has a more detailed display that can show a bit more data at once, but other then that everything else is similar.
I WAS going to buy the 1036 at Home Depot because I have a bunch of gift cards but they wouldn't match the online sale price from Acurite so I hit Costco instead the next day.
Amazon HAD the 1036 for like 90 bucks but it's back up to retail so Acurites price is now better and they have free shipping if you want the better display.
