More accurate timings for max wind gust in WU.
« on: December 07, 2018, 06:03:19 PM »
Hi there, new to the WU interface so may be a easy question to answer.

When reading the daily maximums, it reads a wind gust of 53kph, but when looking on the graph the highest reading is 33/34kph. The data must be there somewhere for it to show 53kph but i can't seem to find a time stamp to go along with it.

Is there an easy way of finding out the information? As several plots throughout the day around 33/34 doesn't pinpoint the exact time.
Thanks

Back when I use to pay attention to WU, they consistently missed extremes, not just the wind. Apparently nothing has changed.

Reading around there seems to be a general dislike for WU. Is there a more accurate/user friendly alternative?

There are other alternatives, but I prefer MesoWest, which can be accessed by joining here. It will open other doors as well.

WU records every 5 minutes.  Your gust peak happened in between the 5 minute intervals.
