Which ones?

That I can't say.  Sharing to more communities has always been their intent, though.

A year or so ago they were looking to see what service they should implement next, but they haven't done so yet.

CWOP seemed to be the big favorite, but I wonder how it would handle a sudden influx of new folks without much siting experience.

When you join CWOP, they strongly encourage reading their packets on how to properly site a weather station. Amateurs are not all that much worse though than putting a thermometer close to huge airports with many massive runways like RDU. That place has grown so much over the last 20 yrs. And they use this site for climate data. The acurite atlas is much more accurate than the 5n1 during the extreme cold temps. I imagine that the Elite could beat it, but it will be hard.

That's why correction factors are used in climate data, even though it causes accusations of "manipulating" the data to manufacture a result.

I  received this from Davis Instruments this evening:

Thanks you for your email to Support. Customers with accounts who send data to Weather Underground Personal Weather Station (PWS) from your weatherlink.com account may notice data is missing or not being sent to Weather Underground in a timely fashion. WeatherLink Software users who have installed Weather Underground’s plugin are also affected. We’ve been in contact with technical staff at The Weather Channel, who operates Weather Underground, and they’ve informed us their RapidFire servers are experiencing a temporary performance problem that should be resolved in the next couple days. When services are available again, we’ll make an attempt to back-fill missing data, but some data points may be lost. Operations staff at Davis Instruments are doing everything possible to make sure the most complete set of data is sent to Weather Underground as soon as possible.

We’ve made available a status page operated by Pingdom, a third party external monitoring service, that measures availability for Weather Underground’s RapidFire service.

Thanks Aardvark, more green than red this morning. Kind of you to check in with Davis and that they'll try to backfill.

This morning there is no error from meteobridge sending to WU now.  But looks like their servers are not in sync.  Reload my station page and get different result such as partial weather graph, correct graph and no graph at all.  I think they still have a lot to be done.

Someone turned on the RAWS feed from MADIS again on the map. I haven't seen those on in a year probably.

Since Jan 3, the Wu's radar showed it's been snowing in North Georgia/SCarolina...I haven't heard anything about the National Guards being mobilized to dig those poor, unprepared people out of what must be 20' of snow by now!!!!  OOOooo, the human suffering!!!!!!!!!!!!

It looks like the snow has gone this morning and the radar is giving us somewhat current radar images...at 30-minute intervals.

I noticed that also this morning.  I was wondering if there was an issue with server capacity by not having them for a while and the cameras going away etc.  Now after this gap in service, maybe a jump in capacity was required/installed.  Maybe now they have the capacity to retain and re-start all the services.  I have been steady for some hours now and can edit status notes.  Still have a page count of 1, but thing are definitely improving.

Disregard that editing status notes.  I thought it was editable, but upon refresh I see that they are not as of yet.  But still improving for sure.

I noticed there's now a comment area below each of my station pages. Is this new? I don't recall seeing that before.

Yeah that's new

Perhaps they want to deflect some of their issues on their data providers ;)

I don't know if someone has posted this yet or not...

The comment function must be in the process of rolling out.  I didn't see it earlier when it was mentioned in this thread, but now I do.
