Hi there...first time on this forum...
Looks pretty solid :)

I want to buy a weather station that works with solar panels, tells the wind strength, wind direction, average wind in a day, be able to accept and send sms messages from-to mobile phones etc...does anyone know how to guide me through?

In case i find one and buy it will windfinder dot com, local wind authorities offer me money, percentage, etc...?

All the best,
Philios.

First it's would be very great to now how much money you will spend on a wx station.

If your budget allow it, i would check out Davis. You also must think about if you do need a fan or not etc. check out the stations here  http://www.ambientweather.com/prwest.html ,
you can get a better price by asking for the low price quote on mail. Money talks alot here

If somebody will offer you some money, then wow.  It's just a great hobby for me  8-)

Welcome....we are all happy to help you spend your money. This is a great place to get started and ask a ton of questions. The range of cost go from low to high, it just depends what you want to do with your weather station. You might want to start out and take one step at a time with a budget system (unless you got the money) and work up from there. I can tell that I started small and then jumped into a Davis VPro 2 wireless. It works great. To see some of the stations setups, go to the Weather Station Picture area of the forum. You can see how each of us has done it.

are you able to run a pc at the site?
(so that software that you use can send the sms messages via a internet connection (even if that is a mobile connection only)

Sorry for answering so late!
I thought that the forum will let me know if i had answers to my question!

This weather stations gives info about the wind and works with the sun no need to have a computer near it!
I went for a trip in the past somewhere in Africa and i saw a weather station that seemed to be super!!!!!

First it worked with the sun, solar powered!
Second it received-send sms!
Third it informed about the wind!  Current wind, average wind, gusts etc.

I want to know which companies sell such weather stations!  If someone knows about the exact one shown in the picture it will be really nice :)

Thanks again,
Philios.
