Text for URL
« on: February 16, 2015, 08:06:28 AM »
I have found that after I preview a post, I can change the text of a URL to whatever I want, thus simplifying long links.

Is there a way to do this as you are entering the URL and not after the preview?

Code: [Select]
[url=http://www.wxforum.net/index.php?action=unread]http://www.wxforum.net/index.php?action=unread[/url]
results in:

http://www.wxforum.net/index.php?action=unread

but it becomes:

DELETED THE REDUNDANT LINK AFTER THE BRACKET

By moving the bracket after the first "URL", adding an "=" and placing the RH bracket after the link, I placed the word "TEST" and it worked.

TEST

Is there a cleaner option for this that the text modifier after the URL could be entered as part of a toolbar entry?

The BBCode format is [ url=http://long-nasty-ugly-one.tld]Nice Clean Readable One[/url]

There should be a preformatted tag for SMF Boards.  I have an add-on for SeaMonkey that does it for me.
