NOAA YTD and MTD Rainfall
« on: December 11, 2015, 04:48:08 PM »
Hi,
I have searched but can not find an internet location to get the YTD and MTD rainfall at my local NOAA station, Sanderson Field near Shelton WA.
I want to compare this to my home station.
Thanks in advance for any help.

I'm not sure that's available for your particular airport, but here's three days worth. http://w1.weather.gov/obhistory/KSHN.html
You can get it although, for these local airports. http://w2.weather.gov/climate/index.php?wfo=sew
Or you can try here. http://www.weather.gov/help-past-weather

Well it is WU,  #-o, but suspect good enough for his/her needs.

It should be the official data. WU actually makes it much easier vs the government climate centers where they now make you jump through hoops and isn't even what you want.

I would never trust WU for official anything. And if you'll notice, about half way down the page you posted, they even admit to the same thing.

It works for me. And like I said its much simpler than the regional climate center I've tried. I'm not twisting anyone's arm to use it.

I agree the WU monthly is easy to get. I also downloaded the files sent by kcidwx and they are very interesting. I am going to enter the date in my spread sheet and see how NOAA compares to WU.
Thanks again all of you
