FTP webcam image problem
« on: March 12, 2009, 06:56:36 PM »
Need some expert advice :-

Here is my problem - I have a webcam that takes a photo every 1 min. So far so good - It increments the photo each time - pic1, pic2, pic3 etc. - Now the tricky bit - What I want is to FTP the latest image only at 10 or 30 min intervals. When I use FLING it scans folder at each shedule and uploads all new images added after previous upload. How can I upload only the latest image available at each shedule?

Thanks
Ron

Simple - Change the update frequency of Fling so it updates every 30 minutes.

--- Logitech HD Pro C920 webcam (off-line)
--- RIPE Atlas Probe - 32849

Thanks for reply Don
That wont work either.....
The folder would have 30 new images at that point and would upload all 30.
Then 30mins after that a total of 60 but it will upload the newest 30 images.
I wanted to upload only the very latest image at each upload....

The images are being stored for timelapse. But wanted to upload a still image.

Save an image to a separate folder every 30 minutes (using the same filename each time) and then set up Fling to look at the folder every 30 minutes.

I'm pretty sure Fling gives you the option of either 1) moving the files after FTP, or 2) deleting the file.

Check the file options after Fling has run and FTP'd...

Of course, if you want to save all the files, the deleting won't work...
