first would be to get normal weather reports working in WD

in the control panel,FTP/Internet setup, weather report email
then get the weather warnings emails working, via control panel, weather warning setup
then tick the setting in the facebook setup to send warnings

what is your email provider?
i.e you will need to know the SMTP server, etc

Now you really got me lost I don't understand what you mean by all this. Sorry I'm having to ask for so much help but once I learn it then I will know what to do if I have to setup again.

I found this: Yahoo Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP) - smtp.mail.yahoo.com (SSL enabled, port 995)

Ok I got it now where it says connected when I hit test but I'm still not receiving a email

Yes! Now the test is sending me emails. Next step is getting the warnings sent to my FB page.

SSL isn't tied to specific ports.  In theory, it can be used on any port on any protocol.  All that matters is that both sides agree to use SSL.

It's a subtle distinction, but an important one, as some hosts can run both SSL and non-SSL over the same port at the discretion of the client.

Bottom line:  Set things up as your host tells you to.

then make sure you are using the latest version of WD

Poor word choice on my part.  By specific, I meant "as specified" (by the provider).  Regardless one does need to RTFM as set it up as directed, SSL or not.

I should be I downloaded just other day and I think it was the version that came out in June. Does that sound like the right one?

also you can force a weather warning send by setting a parameter threshold in the weather warning setup that is going to get beaten
as a test
