I have a 5 in 1 in a fairly mild climate and it's just OK. I'd like one at my vacation home on an ocean front cliff.  (100 mph winds are common, rainfall is 100"/year and the salt air will destroy any ferrous metal.

Would the current 5 in 1 sensor stand a chance is this type of climate?  I'm most worried about the salt air climate. Is anything in the 5 in 1 corrosive in salt air?

Current setup is a Maximum and it's held up quite well but lacks remote monitoring.

In those conditions, not in a million years. You'll need something much more robust, like RM Young. Don't waste your money.

I read a review on Amazon one time about an installation on the outer banks of NC, and I think the sensor lasted just over one year. That isn't too bad. Also you get a one year warranty.

This sounds like the perfect application for a yacht/sailboat ultrasonic anemometer, since it was intended for exposure to salt and has no moving parts.....
WU Gold Stars for everyone!
