Does anyone know the plug size?
« on: December 13, 2013, 06:15:54 PM »
Hey Guys,

Does anyone know the plug size of the DC transformers used for acurite stations?

I am in Australia so the US one is no good but i can get plenty of transformers with a 4.5V output and 1 amp or less but i don't know the size of the plug that goes into the unit, i believe it maybe a 5.5x2.5 plug.

Any Ideas

I don't know the plug size but you could always snip that one off and replace the new one with it. Just be sure to watch the polarity.

You might try asking on Acurite's support forum on http://support.acurite.com

They've been staffing that board pretty well lately, so you should get a reply in a day or two if not sooner.

You might reference this power adapter in their catalog: http://www.acurite.com/power-adapter-5n1adptr.html

The power rating of the supplied adapter is 4.5V 250mA.  I just find an old iPhone adapter (5W) and a USB to DC cable.  Now this adapter drive both meteobridge and Acutrite 1525 console.
