Question about snow and rain
« on: February 26, 2010, 10:03:10 AM »
I'm wondering how you do when not having a heated rain gauge.

Dyou put in the snow as rain afterwards, or what?

This season i have got 91 cm of snow, I know on which days it come.

Should I'll edit the log files and add 1 cm of snow as 10 mm of rain in those days it was snowing or should I'll just let it be?

I would add it in.  It does count as precip., even if it is frozen when it hits the ground.  I would add it to the individual days if you can.  If you can not, just add it to the month or year end totals.

Yeah, it's melting down.  I hope to have a heavy rain soon, so it will wash away the road salt away.  Then I can keep my car clean again.  Our temps have been in the mid 30's to mid 40's the last few days.  Plus we are getting some good winds lately, so it has helped the melting and evaporation processes.   However my back yard is very wet.   If you were to walk back there you would sink down in about 2 inches.
