Which weather station for remote monitoring?
« on: October 05, 2016, 06:01:15 PM »
I am looking for a weather station to use on the family farm that I can monitor when I am out of town over the internet.     The specific things I need are ability to mount the main sensor package 300-400  feet from the house where the internet connection is located, as well as have a second temperature sensor mounted 200 -300  in the opposite direction where my backyard citrus grove is located.  (different micro-climates)    Important features are primarily temperature and rainfall,  there is a PWS located at the local fire station  about a mile away with a Davis Vantage Pro 2 that reports on weather underground, unfortunately they often have large coverage gaps sometimes being offline for days at time.     Ideally I would like one that will interface with WeeWX as I already have a computer running linux and Zone Minder for security cameras at the farm house. My budget is under $500.

thanks for any help you can give.
