Title: Marine weather
Post by: Scalphunter on December 15, 2016, 06:02:50 PM
Seeing how there is  an Aviation section  to weather  forum  how about adding an Marine weather   section. lot of  folks live along  the coast line and has  boats  more then aircraft.  You  know that hole surrounded by water into which you pour money into.

Good idea, I personally would probably re-structure the threads completely, some sections that are directly on the homepage are absolutely unused

A "Marine Weather" topic section is exactly what I was thinking of suggesting here since before coming aboard, until I saw your post; 'like minds' and all that.

It's certainly as wide an interest area, and even NOAA devotes at least as many resources to "marine" interests as aviation (I would include the whole NHC as initially and primarily "marine" in nature).
Not to mention the FNMOC. Which has/had some fantastic data and imagery available ("had" because in the 'good ol' days' there was even more available before the site 'security' was tightened up). It also has perhaps the best world-wide cyclonic data and imagery available too.
