strange Barometer behavior, Willamette Valley, Oregon
« on: February 10, 2012, 12:59:37 PM »
Hello everyone,
I just noticed a strange (to me) phenomenon on my barometer, my recorder logged a series of blips, in the shape of sign waves.  I've had this thing up for a couple years and I am familiar with its basic reactions to weather changes, but this was over a tenth of an inch of Hg and it's period was about an hour, much quicker than any changes I've seen to date.  This oscillating up and down lasted for several hours and created a roller-coaster sort of an effect on my recording.  At first I was thinking 'local event', something in my hardware perhaps, but several of my nearby friends noticed the same thing on their equipment.  FYI, my location is in the Willamette Valley, Oregon and the Jet Stream is far to the north at this time if that would have any effect.  This is, I'm sure, normal but I would sure like to know what caused it.
Thanks for any thoughts,

73,
~Michael
