CoCo Iner Tube Measurement.
« on: June 29, 2017, 06:06:39 PM »
Just curious if anyone else's inner tube measures 1.01 and a half when full and over flowing into the big tube? I always wondered if I should measure it at the above or 1.02. Just eyeballing it, it looks like 1.5. I know, splitting hairs.  Anyways, finally did something about it today and made that cut a little deeper to bring it down to 1 inch.
No more gut wrenching decisions when emptying the gauge now.

The top of mine is about 1.03", but has a little slot at top that allows for the overflow to start right about 1.00".

Mine has the little slot at top too but it still measures right at about 1.01".

Yes, mine has the same slot too. Was just wondering if everyone's gauge was like that also.
Curious why that slot wasn't cut to read exactly an inch before it overflows.
Like I said above, splitting hairs.

Upon further thought, the funnel has the small portion that sticks down into the inner tube for stability might account for the extra .01". They took that slight volume into consideration. Nice!

If you record over an inch and pull that funnel out it still reads 1.02.

I tap mine a few times to get down to 1.00 or less, before I empty the tube and refill with the overflow.
