Weather station with continuous rs-232 data feed
« on: September 30, 2012, 02:22:19 PM »
Good evening,
I'm looking for some advice about purchasing a new weather station...

I currently have a WS2300 and I store the data from this in a mysql database on a Raspberry Pi 'pc' using open2300 with a perl script and emoncms (http://openenergymonitor.org) which I also use to display data / graphs and view from the internet.

To get the data from the ws2300 you first have to poll it to ask it to send the data, does anyone know of any weather stations that just constantly send out the data with out a request first having to be sent as this would suit my setup better.

Chris.

The 'older' Oregon Scientific stations do this, e.g. the WMR968, but they are no longer manufactured. They do appear on eBay from time to time, even 'new' ones.

Hi there,

Thanks I'll keep a lookout I say 'new' but I meant new to me, not necessarily new from a shop new.
