My New WebCam

anchorageweather:
Well, I finally made a decision about a webcam.  I went back and forth between something like Chris's:

http://www.capeweather.com/webcam.html

and Darrell's:

http://itsyourweather.com/cam.html

I decided to go with the digital camera.  It was a little cheaper and I liked the high resolution.  I am not able to  show live video (hope I don't regret it later  :? ). Anyway,  I don't have the page complete yet; however, the image is being loaded here:

Feel free to take a look and tell me what you like/dislike.  I'll probably have it in the web-page by this weekend.

Many thanks to ALL the member of this thread:

who pushed me over the edge and helped me get it done.

EDIT:

Well As the sun goes down, I see that I need to correct the reflection from the window - nighttime captures are good though.

That's an active weather community full of folks who are always glad to push one another over the edge.

BTW... anyone know where this edge is?

That looks great!  Good resolution and a fantastic view.  The size at 1024x768 may be a bit large for some viewers.  My stats for all of last year show that about 13% only have 600x600, and another 60% are at 1024x768.  Remember that those at 1024 will still have to scroll to view the image in the browser even set to full screen because of borders, etc.  Just a thought.

I really love the view, what body of water is it?

Its a view of the Ohio River from my office.  I think you are right about the size.  I have scaled it down and set up a link to the full size image.  The new page (still rough) is here:

Rick, thank you very much for the feedback.

That is a very impressive image! Very clear and the details look great especially near the bridge. What kind of Cam is that anyhow? Great selection whatever it is.  :D
