Wim
More or less now built my iPad (Tablet) version on your template, using settings and files.
Could you give me your opninon, first time built on css and php from scratch...
It´s going to hang in the living room or kitchen - using it as console with some extra features.
As told before, nice idea.
To support you and others I modified the index.php a bit. Attached you will find the last (2.5a version) but now with an extra parameter you can use in the calling of a page.
Example, this is the normal URL for Meteobridge test site startpage:
http://www.wiri.be/weather2/index.php?p=10This is the result if you add &ipad to the call of the page:
http://www.wiri.be/weather2/index.php?p=10&ipadYou see that now all headers, footers and menu are gone.
When using Safari on an iPad you can put the "shortcut" on the "desktop" using the "airdrop" icon and then choosing "Add to home screen". Off course all these "names" are different for every language. This is from a Dutch iPad set to English to get these names.
There are no special scripts for iPad pages yet. You create your own.
1. You make a special page with only the information on it which is needed, put that in the menu with show='yes' so that the page always appear in the menu. If you do not want that you should set it to show='wsDebug' while than it is only shown in the menu when adding &debug to the url
2. for testing you can use your normal laptop/desktop computer with the "normal" menu and so on until satisfied and all tests with and without &iPad are OK.
3. You than use the iPad to make the shortcut on the Home screen.
4. As final toch you set the show setting in the menu to show='ipad'. That will make sure that normal visitors of your site will not see ipad page (without menus and so on) on their regular visits.
To install: Make a copy of the current index.php (2.5x 2014-03-28) and replace it with the unzip of the attached one.
