w32.trojan.gen
« on: April 24, 2017, 05:45:53 PM »
My webroot secure anywhere just identified g:\wdisplay\croncloud.exe as a w32.trojan.gen. Care to explain what this means.
Thanks
John

I think Webroot had a glitch.. it marked all my WD executables that way.. I had to decline to remove them and rescan to get it happy again.  I also saw on twitter that some users had a lot of win10 executables marked for removal too.

My guess is a bad descriptor set was used by webroot.. make sure they don't remove WD files (or win10 executables).. they'll likely push a new definition set to their cloud to correct their mistake

I didn't think WD was starting to put trojans in the software, but was just making sure. Thanks your WD works great for me.
