Topic: NWS forecast.weather.gov changing 7-Mar-2017. New advforecast2.php V5.00

I just updated my script files after checking with check-fetch-times.php, and I'm getting the message about point forecast not being available, only zone.. Is there anything I have to do to get that working?  Or is this NWS not updating yet?  My page is at http://www.indigopc.com/wxNWSforecast.php

Nothing you need to do.. they're just loading the point-forecast data (AFAIK).  The https: version of the forecast.weather.gov site is not working right now, so they're likely doing the implementation starting at 07:00 Pacific time.

Looks like they just pulled the plug on the old forecasts.

I just checked my site, and the forecasts were missing. A few minutes later they came back with no action on my part other than page reloads.

My last forecast update was at 0510 today. Within the past few minutes that changed to "Sorry.. the forecast for Phoenix is not available at this time. NWS server has an error." This was expected so at least they're now working in my area.

Agreed.  I have no data in my zone (OKZ060) and the return on the URL cycles from proxy error to server error.  I'm guessing they are in progress.

I'm getting point forecast again as of 3:30 EDT, but NWS OKX (New York, NY) posted this on their Facebook page:

Update: during the update, we ran into technical issues, so, we're going to have to delay until another day. By around 5pm EDT, we'll be rolling back to the old forecast pages in order to get the info back in your hands. We're very sorry for the inconvenience.

The NWS is doing some "Spring cleaning" of our own and updating our forecast pages.  These changes will make them faster and more-reliable!  Be sure to update your bookmarks!

Was about to be happy after seeing my forecasts back but apparently it's just back to the old ways (or is that just OKX?). Getting to be an old story...

I'm getting correct data from the new URLs.. I think OKX may be referring to the forecasts provided on their own website -- those seem to all be returning forecasts from http://forecast.weather.gov

I'm guessing they are still hitting reliability issues.
