New Plugin – Air Quality Forecast Canada

this new plugin shows air quality forecast for selected Canadian province, supports both English and French.

Station data for today is showing yesterdays rain at 42mm, todays is 27.6mm so far....

PS, when i choose 24hrs from the drop list its doubles yesterdays amount to 84mm

Hi,
this happens when people set their update intervals too fast and the server is slower and when the next update starts before the previous one is finished, it uses the previous cache file. If this happens at midnight, it will save previous day´s rain over to the next day as well. You need to edit the first entry in the db for that day and change the rain to 0 and if you are using some very short interval for the updates you will probably need to increase it.

Its deffo not a slow server I believe its an i5 with 16gb and there is only 5 sites on it,
its not like a 1 and 1 server where theres a 1000+

I remember having to edit the database before as well, cant a check be put in place, i mean
its really obvious that say for example 42mm didnt fall 1 minute after midnight, is there no
way to fail safe this?

Putting that one aside, if i havent used the admin side of the site for say an hour or so, when i
open the menu and choose an admin option, it says im not authorised, yet if i click back and do that
again, it lets me in...

This depends on the browser session expiry time and if that happens you must re-create the session, which is done by the homepage script.

No, these things are built-in to browsers, I think Chrome uses 20mins

The problem is that I know about 4 users who had this problem, the passwords and everything were unchanged, it seems to be an injection to the menu, but until I see someone´s access log to find the issue I cant really fix it, I checked all the menu related pages, they all require the session and being logged in

This really could be anything, for example both the users told me they were on vacation and Im just wondering, if you connect via public wifi, who knows...

OK, based on two access logs I have seen, this looks like someone guessed the password, re-created the cookie and that logged them in straight because from the access logs I can see they were immediately logged in, the template would ask for password or redirect to login page, but there is no try of that, as a fix for now, i removed the cookie feature, you can dwonload updated header.php, which for now should prevent anyone misusing the cookie. Also then log out of your template and for now you will not be able to use the Remember me feature if you update the new header.

Thanks for the Heads UP, Do we know any ip addresses we can block?
Is there a way that if the password is guessed incorrectly it will lock you out (them) and the only
way to rectify that would be to use the FTP, to get their password right, they must have had very
simple passwords......

As far as I can see, it looks like the 3 people might not follow one of the crucial instructions in the wiki, so hopefully this should not affect others, but I would still do what I posted in the Blog.

As far as I can see, it looks like the 3 people might not follow one of the crucial instructions in the wiki, so hopefully this should not affect others, but I would still do what I posted in the Blog.

i.e. which one in case many of us (namely me) may not have done also..?

I have all my sites and the 4 other clients auto backed up to PC here at home, nightly, i think i have it
set to 1 weeks worth, plus 1 monthly, i also have it duplicated on to a backup drive but in the same PC
so hopefully im covered for any eventuality not just the MT situ'

Follow the checklist I posted in the Blog and hopefully you will be fine, in the absolute worst scenario, a backup is always a solution, there is nothing secret in the template so all that can happen is that a certain page does not work. But if you do what I posted in the Blog it should not be a problem.

In the top header I can set either the flag image or custom, is there a way to just delete that image completely?

Have you thought about using Postgres database instead of MySQL? It seems to be able to handle more data?

New Block – Daily Deviations

Hi guys,

in this new block you first select a particular month and year. The script will then draw a graph of daily average temperature and temperature range for the selected month and compare it with the overall average for that particular month and the average for the month of the selected year. It might sound a bit complicated, but once you see it you will get what it does. No setup required.
