Hi,
yes I looked into how FB works several times in the past and there are many problems with it because they made it very difficult for developers to use their API. The major two problems are:
- lot of setup has to be done on the client´s side - i.e. you would have to create a developer´s account, generate the API key etc etc and I had problems finding out how to do it myself and it took me quite a while
- the token has to be re-generated every 3 months, then it stops working
- the API changes very often

It was obvious to look into it, so I did quite some time ago.

However there is a way of doing this, if you use the Twitter feature then you can use ITTT and set a recipe to auto-repost these twitter posts to your FB account as well

Thats a shame, i knew they made it harder but thats sounds almost like they dont want people to do it

As for twitter, we are restricted to the amount of characters, therefore the post that i make wouldnt fit
As soon as they increase the limit i will be in like Flint ;) I really like what i have setup to auto post
it just means that every half an hour, for a few minutes i cannot touch the mouse on the weather pc, but its worth it :)
Kind regards
Bashy

Spot on - they dont want people to use it and they discontinued some parts of the API completely - they simply want people to go to FB directly and use all the features there and instead of making it easy to "implement FB elsewhere", they try adding everything to FB...

Meteotemplate - New Plugin – Temperature Sums

New Plugin – Temperature Sums

Hi guys,

this new plugin is for calculation temperature sums – the number of hours when the average temperature was above or below a certain threshold. The values are expressed as both absolute number of hours and percentage and you will see them as interactive tables and graphs, grouped by years, months and all months.

Block Update – Current Conditions 14.0

Hi guys,

new/changed things:

- block now uses API exclusively – all of you should now be using the API so the option to select update type was removed
- more accurate rain rate (now taken directly from the api live conditions file, not database as previously)
- removed UV enable/disable parameter from the settings, the block now automatically adds UV if it detects it is available in the API file
- CSS tweaks and improved formatting
- optimization

Enjoy

Using current conditions it shows the rain for the day and also the rain rate.  It has stopped raining for a while and the rain rate is still showing.  Is there a way to tell it is currently raining?   I have use the Dark Sky API for current icon.  Where do I see the icon?  Is it the background image in the header?

thanks.  That fixed it.

Is there a way to tell it is currently raining other than looking at the rain rate?

I have use the Dark Sky API for current icon.  Where do I see the icon?  Is it the background image in the header?  If it is then it is not very accurate.  My background is showing sunny and in fact it is cloudy.

If it is raining, rain rate should be >0, if it is 0, it should not be raining.

Header - uses METAR
Current conditions icon in current block - uses Darksky

I am looking at the METAR for my area.  It is showing METAR K8A0 251615Z AUTO 32003KT 10SM -RA BKN120 18/18 A3024 RMK AO2.  I assume the -RA is rain but my background is showing sunny.  It is raining though very light.

I do not see an icon on my CURRENT block?

I think for rain there should be a locally produced icon to display and not depend on the metar.

The METAR thing is cached for 60mins so you could have looked just after it was updated. The Darksky current condition icon must be enabled in the block settings.

This is the URL used by the header, and it shows "clear", so it is more likely to be a problem with the update time of the NOAA server.

I have it set to True.

The Darksky current condition icon must be enabled in the block settings.

I see nothing is the setting file relating to DarkSky.  I am also seeing the UV icon but I only have the solar sensor not UV sensor.

The settings file looks ok, and looking at your page, it seems to have fixed itself...I can see the icon now.

The reason you see UV is because whichever SW you use, is sending the UV value (as 0)

New Block – U.K. – Warnings

Hi guys,

finally I managed to come up with some warnings block for the U.K., originally I wanted to use the official XML feed provided by MetOffice, however the problem is that all it provides is the date, affected areas, level and name (rain, hail etc.) and no details about it whatsoever. This would be useless since this can already be achieved by the regional EU warnings block from Meteoalarm. In the end I therefore decided to do it slightly differently and in a more complicated way, but having it tested by one of you, surprisingly it seems to work fine.
