Weather Station Data Logger version 4.2 released
« on: December 12, 2010, 05:23:52 PM »
This is a freeware package hosted on SourceForge which provides
data logging, display, analysis and internet upload of data from
Oregon Scientific (aka "OS") WMR100(N), WMR200 and RMS300 weather
station consoles.

Here are a few of WSDL's features:

* Internet data upload to CWOP, Weather Underground, PWS and AWEKAS

* Manual rainfall input for CoCoRaHS members

* Calibration offsets for just about everything

* Support of three different barometers (OS, weather jack, arduino) --
see the project web page for details.

* Web page generation with FTP upload to web servers. Up to 16
different weather graphs (PNG files) can be created and uploaded,
with updates as frequently as once per minute.

* client/server operation: weather data can be viewed on multiple
  computers on a home network.

* custom clients can be created to run on any computer
connected to the home network (including linux) and can do
a myriad of tasks with the data -- such as controlling X10 switches,
generating e-mails or playing wav files based on weather conditions.

* Multiple graphs (up to 16) can be configured. Different graph
setups can be saved and recalled.

* Support for Arduino weather receiver using the WSDL weather shield.
This is a home-built replacement for the OS base console which improves
reception of wireless sensors. The receiver currently recognizes
eleven different OS sensor models including RF protocol versions
2.1 and 3.0. More will be added if users will post sensor data
on SourceForge forums. Instructions can be found on the project
  web site.

* The Arduino unit also (optionally) includes a temperature/humidity
sensor and barometer which are more accurate than what is included
in the original base console from OS.

* Extensive (96-page) user manual.

More information is available on the project's web site here:

Hi everyone,

Anybody with a blank PCB available for sale for the new WSDL arduino shield?
Or willing to share PCB manufacture costs?

FYI, we're working hard to try and get some of these available for retail purchase. They are very cool. It is hard to predict how things will go but the soonest that something could happen is perhaps mid-March (next month). If any arrangements are worked out we'll be sure to post the news ASAP.
