Interesting info. One thing that is evident the motors are noisier in the morning when its cold. The shaft end play coupled with runout, fan  and the plethora of other things might be the cause of the noise and or failure. Dunnnnnnnnnnno lol

"I continue to have temp rise from the sun on clear days.  I think cloudy days its not problem due to enough scatter illuminating the panel.  Having it only face south wasn't such a great idea."

I know where the sun rises (moon too) and sets on my hill at different times of the year and there is a big difference and I think dual panels would be a plus here. I have mentioned before I am on the third 5&1 and would like to see if two months and would like to see if it lasts.

The aspirator motor is running quietly this morning 50 degrees with 43 overnight low and the sun is coming out . Perhaps it has been moisture trapped between the motor and lip of the fan throwing it out of balance like an out of balance tire on a car.

Customer support called this morning, I explained the aspirating problems and they are going to send me a single panel replacement even though the current one was running quietly this morning.  I will have a backup if this one goes down. Great support

My new fan arrived one week after my last post. The weather has warmed up here a little the old fan is still running, noisy when cold and less noisy when it warmer.

The failures are still going on       Aspirating fan 01010W  https://support.acurite.com/acurite/topics/aspirating_fan_01010w

I added panels to my 5 in 1 tonight (see my other thread).  We'll see how it helps in the next few days.

Found out what that PCB does in the aspirator section - it's a 1.5V low dropout regulator.

My 5 in 1 has failed too. Temperature is stuck at -40. Replaced batteries, reset acu link, and still stuck at -40.

I was able to fix mine. Both temperature and dew point were stuck at minus 40. I first took apart the unit, didn't see any unusual dirt buildup, but wiped it down anyway. Reassembled, and still did not work. So thinking the sensor somehow got messed up, I decided to see if I could "jump start" it. Took a misting water bottle and sprayed lightly a few times from the bottom into the unit. Sure enough, within 15 minutes, the unit starting reporting again. It was running too high with dew point and humidity, but once it evaporated, it started reading correctly. I don't know how long that will last, but so far so good.

By your use of "AcuLink", I'm assuming you have a bridge?

Were you seeing -40 on both MyBackYardWeather.com and the local display?  If the -40 shows up on both, the problem is definitely in the 5n1.  If not, the problem is either in the bridge or the display.  (as the bridge and display both read the 5n1 independently)

Yes, I have the bridge. It read -40 on the local display and through the bridge. Dashboard, local display, and WU were all showing -40. Since doing the misting bottle trick, it was reading correct on all.

Update. Just did another check, it is now stuck on 87 degrees with a dewpoint of 82 on all again. So it is acting up yet again. Looks like time for a replacement.
