The PWS historical data will be restored, but it's likely a few weeks out. We're short-staffed at the moment and have a lot of items on the to-do list.

But I understand if you choose to send your data elsewhere.

I assume presume the enquirer suggested that that he could send his data elsewhere, and William acknowledged that is an option, not suggesting to change.

We are a discriminating group ;)

Enjoy,
Paul

Well it could also be that he simply understands their site is becoming unusable... I mean just now there are 3 parallel threads discussing parts of WU not working.... if it really is such a problem to get at least the fundamental pages working, then they either don´t care and don´t give the time to it, or these people are unable to do it no matter how hard they try - my opinion.

Yes, I would like to start sending my data elsewhere, so that I can present it on my website. I currently use some excellent scripts that utilise historical data from WU but this can no longer be relied upon.
I use Meteobridge and will soon start saving my data into a MySQL database. Once there, how can I easily query this database for presentation on my website?
Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
Cheers,

Simon (WessexWeather)

Hi,
you then need to create PHP scripts that will first retrieve the data and then some other code that will display it, ideally using also graphs etc. That´s exactly what my template does, I created it for that very reason - I did not want to rely on WU and I also have scripts built-in the template that will import history data from WU so that one does not have to start from scratch.
You will need PHP, some charting library, Javascript etc. depends how familiar you are with these.

Thanks for the reply. I'm not at all familiar with php which is why I have taken the WU route. I will have to look into this further over the Christmas holidays.

In case you are interested have a look at my template, it is all set via GUI, no need to know coding whatsoever and if you want Im happy to help you with it, I just installed it to one guy this weekend and I do that on a daily/weekly basis.

Jáchym,
That looks very good - you have obviously put a lot of work into this. And all this can run from a Meteobridge uploading to a MySQL database?

Yes, in fact that is exactly my setup and using MB is by far the easiest because you don´t need to worry about any CRON jobs, all that is built into MB

I can pretty much set you up within an hour including everything and it can run from a subfolder so of course you don´t need to do anything with your current website, it will all stay as it is now, only alternative

For the time being it looks like WU has resolved the issue with missing historical data.... mostly.  All of the 2016 data is now accessible, except the last 3 days of the year, which are missing.

Try removing/renaming the "year-2016" file in the cache, then the script will create it new.  I did this just yesterday.

I don't get anything (except as attached). Removed the cache file and also tried the ?forceupdate=1. Still the same essentially blank page. No idea when this started as I haven't looked at this page in a long time.

Thanks.
