I noticed the other day when it was in the upper 70s (°F) and the dew point was 71, the heat "color" word chosen was "Comfortable". Looking at the code, I see that the humidity doesn't come into play until the temperature gets up into the heat index range (80-ish). The problem is that if I report "Comfortable" for that particular situation, no one is going to take me seriously.
"Un" comfortable would be acceptable.
So I'm wondering two things:
1) What is the genesis of the algorithm, the ranges chosen, etc.
2) Has anyone else modified this code to deal with muggy (60s dew points) and oppressive (70s dew points) to expand the "heat" word to be more in tune with what it feels like due to the humidity, especially with the temperature below 80°F?
Thanks!
