It had to happen sooner or later, but today (15-Mar-2012) marks the date we have now rejected 5256 spammer registrations to date, which exceeds by one our current member count of 5255.

Hooray for the anti-spam-bot modifications and especially for the http://www.stopforumspam.com/ service.

Best regards,
Ken

Beware the Ides of March, huh?  :)

I, too, appreciate the moderators vigilance and low-key moderation.  I also appreciate the civility of the members of this forum.

Hooray for all!   =D>

A dubious milestone, indeed! At least they get caught before registering rather than deleting them manually.

A forum I moderate has only two moderators left. The admin had abandoned us, and the amount of spam drove off the other moderators. The last two wrote to the admin and told him we were leaving unless he fixed it. He did; he closed all new registration... So we have a nice quiet forum with a constantly dwindling participation and no new blood.

Glad you guys are involved, and don't have to go to drastic measures here!

For fun, I turned on intrusion detection alerts on my router  and I am shocked at how many network attacks occur.  Crazy

Considering Asia and Africa have more people than most of the rest of the world, I'd say the numbers make sense.
