SteelSeries Gauges with WeatherLink and Saratoga Scripts
« on: November 25, 2015, 01:27:44 AM »
Hi

Has anyone successfully included these gauges in a Saratoga based website using the WeatherLink software.

I have downloaded the latest version of the gauges software - Latest version: 2.4.3 but don't know where to go from there despite a number of searches on the internet.  The closest that I have come is on the Leuven-Template website.

A few pointers from anyone who has done it would be very much appreciated.

best wishes

Hi, I'm not using WeatherLink so I can't help with the setup but the latest version should be 2.5.9 and can be found here.

hummm...

just looked at the steelseries config scripts...

in the gauges.js...i dont see weatherlink :
 weatherProgram    : 1,    //Set 0=Cumulus, 1=Weather Display, 2=VWS, 3=WeatherCat, 4=Meteobridge, 5=WView, 6=WeeWX

so...i think its bad news for you...unles someone did an update or patch or... :sad:

If you really want those gauges...youll have to switch to Leuven ...i think...

Hi

It was on my "to do" list for today to e-mail you to ask if it was possible to use part of your template code and use it to implement the steelseries gauges on my Weatherlink/Saratoga website.  You beat me to the punch!  It did look quite promissing until your reply.

Thanks for your reply to my post.

I don't know anything about WeatherLink, but to use it with the gauges you will have to convert one of the other weather software "realtimegauges.txt" template files to whatever it is WL uses. I don't know if that is even possible, but you could blaze a trail here ;)

So...if i understand,just replace this
Cumulus tag: "temp":"<#temp>",...with a
Weatherlink tag: Outside Temperature <!--outsideTemp-->

it should work?

The tag is just the <#temp> part, you have to keep the name of the json field the same, i.e.

"temp": "<!--outsideTemp-->",

Hi PaulMy

Lawnton is an outer northern suburb of Brisbane.  Carina is just south of the Brisbane River to the east of the city.

See my website (kstwx.net): there is a map showing where Carina is situated.

HI Keith,
It looks like about 20-25 km to your north...  maybe someday we will visit there (to check out the weather :lol:).

We visited Sydney in 2005 when our son married Kathryn, who is from Parkes, NSW, and then they moved here until this summer.  I need to update my avatar and maybe you'll recognize the boys ;)  We do Skype but that only gives an inside view :-(

OK.

It is only a "touch" warmer here than at your place!!!

Thanks for the reply

Am in the process of having a look at the steelgauges issue.
